Mohamed Nassar

Mohamed is a climate and sustainability specialist with more than ten years of experience driving impact across engineering, policy, and clean energy systems in Canada and the Middle East. He has led major initiatives at the United Nations, including managing a thirteen million dollar regional program to address sand and dust storms, serving as UN Habitat’s focal point for Environment, Energy, and Climate Change in Iraq, and directing the Kuwait Energy Outlook at UNDP to guide national decarbonization planning. In Canada, Mohamed has contributed to the federal twenty fifty net zero agenda through his work at Natural Resources Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada, advancing building code modernization, benchmarking frameworks, and clean electricity regulations. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Waterloo, where his research integrates engineering, data, and sustainability to develop innovative, data driven solutions for accelerating global climate action.
